Augmented Reality

When you’re selling high-value medical aesthetic devices, physical demos aren’t always practical. Each system can cost tens of thousands of dollars, and shipping or staging them in multiple office locations for every interested provider adds unnecessary friction to the sales process.

To solve this, I built a proof of concept using USDZ files—Apple’s format for 3D and augmented reality previews—to allow potential buyers to visualize Cutera’s devices directly in their own office space. With a quick scan from their iPhone or iPad, users could see a life-sized rendering of the equipment positioned right where it would go—no deliveries, no heavy lifting.

The result was a seamless “View in Your Space” experience that let prospects evaluate real-world fit, design, and footprint before a single unit ever left the warehouse. The sales team could then focus on closing the sale, not managing logistics or explaining measurements over the phone.

Project Key Features

  • Built a USDZ-based 3D viewer for Cutera’s flagship devices
  • Enabled AR previews on iPhone and iPad directly from the product page
  • Would streamlined sales conversations by reducing physical demo needs
  • Would be a reusable template for future devices and product launches

This proof of concept demonstrated how AR can bridge digital marketing and physical space planning, creating confidence for buyers and efficiency for sales teams—especially in high-value, equipment-heavy industries.

Sometimes the best way to sell a product isn’t to move it—it’s to let your customer see it where it matters most.
